Hon. Ian Takudzwa Vambe Appointed Head of Media, Advocacy, and Communications

Gaborone , BotswanaThe Southern Africa Youth Forum (SAYoF) has announced the appointment of Hon. Ian Takudzwa Vambe as its new Head of Media, Advocacy, and Communications Cluster. This appointment highlights Hon. Vambe’s commitment to empowering youth across Southern Africa through effective advocacy and communication strategies.

Hon. Vambe, who also serves as a Member of Parliament for the SADC Youth Parliament, representing the Republic of Zimbabwe. With a rich background in broadcasting and disability advocacy, he brings over five years of experience in policy lobbying and more than five years as a presenter and producer at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC).

In his broadcasting career, Hon. Vambe has established himself as a key figure in current affairs programming. He has hosted significant events, such as election result announcements and parliamentary sessions, showcasing his ability to engage and inform the public on critical issues. Notably, he produced “Mugaris,” Zimbabwe’s first motoring show, which captivated audiences in 2020 and 2021.

Hon. Vambe currently anchors the primetime morning shift at Classic 263 radio, where he hosts “The Grill,” a flagship program that addresses pressing issues of national interest. His expertise in media and communications will be instrumental in advancing SAYoF’s mission.

Beyond his media roles, Hon. Vambe has been a fervent advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities, working in both rural and urban communities. In 2022, he founded the Mkundi Foundation, aimed at promoting the rights and empowerment of people with disabilities and their families.

His appointment is seen as a pivotal move for the SADC region, which aims to enhance youth participation and representation across Southern Africa. As the organization continues to combat social issues affecting the youth, Hon. Vambe’s leadership is expected to drive impactful change.

As the region embarks on this new chapter under Hon. Vambe’s guidance, stakeholders and youth across the region remain optimistic about the future of youth advocacy and representation in Southern Africa.
