Professor Peter Katjavivi was honored at the 56th SADC-PF Plenary Assembly Session in Zambia for his service as Speaker of the Namibian Parliament since 2015 and now to his retirement, a liberator per excellence. The Southern Africa Youth Forum (SAYoF) presented a symbolic gift to honor his legacy, carved by young sculptor Zenzo Muzamba. The artwork symbolizes a flame atop a matchstick, symbolizing Katjavivi’s role as a torchbearer of knowledge and empowerment. Zenzo Muzamba, an artist, is thriving under the Tasimuka Youth Initiative, coordinated by the National Association of Youth Organisations (NAYO), with support from USAID. SAYoF’s commitment to empowering young people and connecting them with opportunities to make a meaningful impact in the region is evident.
