President William Ruto rejected to sign the Finance Bill, 2024, citing public displeasure. He invoked Article 115(1)(b) of the Constitution and advocated for its reconsideration with all clauses removed. Ruto refused to sign a finance bill containing tax increases following nationwide clashes resulting in deaths and numerous injuries.
